Flowers

Two weeks ago our neighbour gave us some flowers and
an invitation to her church christmas celebration :) We can't make it to the celebration as it's on a Sunday but the flowers oh i love!
Have yet to ask her the name of the flowers coz i like it so much!
It lasted long too :D Nice to have flowers in the house once in a while.

Snack time can sometimes be quite stressing as I have to think of what to serve the boys.
It can't be the same thing too often and so have to be creative :P
So this time i served basically the same biscuits but i put it on a plate and it looked like a biscuit platter haha :D and it worked! They were so happy and it kept them occupied for a while :)

Apek Michael's Visit

Apek means uncle in chinese :)
So Zech & Nathan's Apek came for a couple of days to Sydney from Perth.
The boys had so much fun with apek, playing and spending time with him!

George finally arrived :) Nathan kinda likes Curious George,
i say kinda coz he tends to change to toy story
or whatever his brother likes :P But I prefer him liking Curious George
rather than toy story as Curious George is more age appropriate for him :D
I was searching for a more look alike but was kinda hard
so just could find this one which looks ok and most importantly
Nathan could recognize him as 'George' :)

Meeting Spiderman

Spiderman dropped by at the mall on Saturday :) All excited to meet him
but when we actually got to meet him Nathan was scared and
Zech was shy/kinda scared (don't know why :P).
So it was just a meet & greet so Zech shaked his hands and
then a photo with spiderman. The one and only photo we took,
Zech had his eyes closed..hehe but he didnt want to take another :P

Till we meet again spiderman, a better photo next time! :D

Nathan's visit to the hair salon

It's his first visit and before this mummy was his personal hairdresser :P

Zech's Preschool Music Evening

Yesterday, Zech's preschool had a music evening where they performed various songs. Three classes in total, Tembo, Toto & Twiggles. Zech is in the Tembo class :) We arrived on time but not early enough coz all the good seats were filled :P So pics are somewhat small :P

First up was all the classes combine singing & dancing together

Nathan's 2nd Birthday

We went to this place called La Perouse, a suburb in Sydney.
Once again a gorgeous sunny day! We had lunch there and then

Last Friday was such a beautiful day and so i decided to take the
boys to the park.
We went around 4ish so daddy could meet us there after work :)
I brought chips, 'teh botol', a ball and bubbles :D

Making Banana+Oreo+Choc Sauce Ice cream

Last friday the boys made banana+oreo+choc sauce ice cream with daddy!

Father's Day 2010

For father's Day this year, we secretly bought daddy a t-shirt and the boys painted a painting for daddy :) Father's Day was on a Sunday morning so i had to get up extra early to wake the boys to get them ready as normally on Sunday mornings, that is daddy's job :) So for this special day mummy did it hehe ;) Then i prepared breakfast and we surprise him and woke him up! :D

Then on Sunday morning, just simple toast, baked beans,
sausages and coffee for daddy :)

Tembo's Adventure with Zech

If you haven't heard, Tembo is a elephant friend from school :)
It was Zech's turn to bring Tembo home for a week and share adventures
with Tembo. Then mummy and daddy will help Zech put it all in the
sharing book and Zech will share it to his class on Monday.

So it started right on the first night! We had chocolate fondue with strawberries and banana :)
Tembo joined us and mmm boy did he enjoy it and of course Zech did too! :D

The next morning they played with soldiers together!

On Saturday daddy didn't have to work and we were free
the whole day which doesn't happen very often :P
It was a gorgeous sunny day!
We headed off to the Sydney Fish Market for brunch.

Here Tembo is deciding on what to eat..hehe too many choices :P

Then decided to join Zech and eat those yummy calamari rings!

After brunch we went for a walk on Darling Harbour.
We say a marching band from Japan! Wow so cool!

Tembo enjoyed the beautiful tunes coming from the marching band :)

After all that walking we stopped by for some chocolate sundae!
Yummm...

The Zech and Tembo played in the playground..
and Tembo's favourite is the slide..

Then it was time to go home as Zech and Tembo were tired.

Zech's first bicycle

When the big toy sale arrived, i had only one important toy in mind,
well not really a toy hehe..a bicycle for Zech.
So he's still learning as the pedal somehow can be quite hard for him to pedal...
but so far he's ok..haven't gone for a ride for sometime coz it can be quite cold
since it's still winter..:)

Shrek Forever After

When Shrek was out, Zech said he wants to watch it.
In the past, he never wanted to watch movies in the cinema, he'll rather wait for the dvd.
But in this case surprisingly he said yes so we organize to go to the cinema asap
before he changes his mind :P
It was a pleasant experience as we didnt know how Nathan would react
to this new experience. But he did great, both of them and best of all
we had the cinema all to ourselves!!! haha..luxury!

Easter Show Colour-in

When i heard about this colour-in competition by the Royal Easter Show, i thought why not give it a try. Zech was so excited, but had to remind him that if he didn't win, it was ok :) Which by the way he didnt't :) He even forgotten about it haha :P So the picture is in the website and you have to print it then colour-in and submit it when you come to the show. Winners will be notify by phone on the 20th April. Fun to see the boys excited and doing the best they can, even Nathan entered too!

Royal Easter Show 2010

Every year during Easter holidays, the Royal Easter Show will
be held in the Sydney Olympic Park.
This year's our first time. Praise the Lord for the great weather!!
All in all, it was a good experience :)

A Little Surprise

One day this week andrew had morning/afternoon shift. So he was home around 4ish pm, and normally days when he's home this time of the day we'll do something fun like to the park or for a walk or the boys just hang out with daddy while mummy cooks =) So this particular day mummy didnt feel like cooking, haha :P So andrew decided to buy mcdonalds coz they have this new $2o familly dinner box which is quite good value :P Anyways we do this decision making in sign language as we didn't want the boys to know :D Then when the time came to go buy it, we just said daddy had to go out for a while. Well i wanted it to be a nice surprise so i just keep asking, 'you hungry yet zech?' 'want to have rice or pasta (we had pasta for lunch that day, and he loved it!) ?' I was just giggling softly hehehe...Zech even said pasta mummy...it's so yummy..haha..
Then when daddy arrived, knocked on the door...oh i just loved Zech's surprise reaction, just so good!
Even Nathan knew what it was and the boys just scream and jump!
Ahhh love surprises, even just a small one like this, to see my boys so happy..i love! :D

March Happenings

Hey y'all :D How's it going...? Just thought I'll update on what's been happening lately in our humble home :) The weather is getting abit chilly as winter's approaching. So more soupy nights, hot cocoa, fondue (haha not just winter though), and nice hot showers/baths :)
That reminds me! Have to get extra flannel pj's for the boys :P
Nathan is 18 months now, a happy toddler as usual
but not much words yet :)
So far he can say daddy, dada (bye in indonesian) and mama is his popular word which can mean anything!
Zechariah is 4+ and is growing so fast!
Soon he'll be in kindi! For now he is still at home, no preschool yet
as it's costly and we're still on waiting list for the cheaper option.
But, i'm happy he's home, i get to teach him and see his progress!
So he's doing writing with me and to help with
his reading he does it online =)

Powerhouse Museum

Heloooo :D It's been quite sometime eh :P Well we went to for a fun day to the powerhouse museum a month ago :) Particularly wanted to visit Zoe's house. I saw this on playschool (kids show) and search the web to see where was this place...and aha found it!
So zech was so excited mummy found where it is and good thing it was in Sydney! :P

Zechariah's 4th Birthday

Zechariah turned 4 on the 15th December 09. We flew to perth on his b'day :D
Later on had a b'day party for him in M'sia.
He wanted a spiderman theme party, so got him spiderman lolly bags and the cake of course.
He's growing so quickly and learning so fast and so we must be careful what we teach him haha!
In the new year he will be starting preschool and so the years of studying begin :)

A few weeks ago, we went to Rhodes shopping centre
with a few things to do :)
Andrew works in that area so i thought i'll bring the boys
for a fun day out till daddy finishes work.
We had a movie planned and then it's all just hanging out and eating..hehe
So we started off with G-force the movie and Nathan slept through most of it, yay!
Then we wanted to do some cookie decorating but
the line was too long :)
So we walked around and waited to have lunch with daddy.
Then we basically hang out, play area, ice cream, toy shops..

It was a long day but was glad we did it :D

We had Nathan's birthday party last Saturday.
The thing about having a party in a park is of course the weather.
Other than that it's great coz you wont have to do much cleaning up
and the kids can run wild :)
The weather in Sydney is so unpredictable, so weeks before our party date it was raining and cold, almost all the Saturdays leading up to this.
I just prayed and put my trust in Him, He can do all things!
And truly enough it was a gorgeous day! What more could i have asked for...amazing!
It was a sunny day, not cold nor hot, just perfect! I just want to give glory to Him, truly I am so amaze!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NATHAN

It's Nathan's Birthday today! It's really amazing how time
just passes so quickly.
Just seems like yesterday he was this tiny baby, helpless just
wanting to be hold.
Now he's mastering the art of walking :)
Soon he'll be running..and I'll be running after him!!
Although he's not a good sleeper and cranky at times...
We are so blessed to have such a joyful child.
Can't wait to see what God has instore for Him, what
instruments he'll choose..
Whether he'll be a singer, musio or both..hehe
So looking forward for all those milestones coz i know
God is with us every step of the way :)

Our late night adventure

One night this week, when andrew came home from work around 10pm...the boys were still not asleep!
I had put them to their rooms at around 8.45pm but somehow
they just couldn't sleep!
Maybe it's coz of the recent daylight saving time changes..:)
Anyway, so when they heard daddy at the door the even more excited
they were and of course had to see him.
Then we just discussed should we go out for a ride?
Maybe they would fall asleep in the car..so we thought..haha
We drove and drove then headed to mcdonalds!! Hahaha...
Wasn't convinced at first coz what might people say??
kids out this late??
But at the end thought ah why not? Never done it before..always a first
for everything ey..hehe :D
So we had something to eat and then drove somemore...still they were not asleep!
Andrew and I were craving for some chocolate milk..hehe so we bought some in the nearest petrol station, then decided to head home since it was getting real late and the car ride wasnt helping with the sleeping :D
We had our milk, took some photobooth pics..then finally they were ready for zzzz land :D
Ahh what an adventure...some memory to tresure indeed!

We went to Ikea yesterday on daddy's day off :)
Zech has always been asking to go and was so excited
that we were going.
We had to buy some stuff for the house mainly for storage.
We are doing a bit of spring cleaning and still in progress..hehe..

Last week i took the boys out to lunch while Andrew was at work.
We walked of course...:) to Macdonalds not too far way from our place.
Around about 15 minutes walk. Zech was so excited coz when we normally
get Macdonalds it's either a take away or just a quick stop.
So this time i said we could stay long and you can play for as long
as you want or until Nathan gets cranky :)
We had a nice time, i brought lunch from home for Nathan,
Zech ate a whole cheeseburger.
He got to play and was happy coz the
happy meal toy was a superman card thingy :)
He was okay walking the way there coz of his excitement
but of course on the way back it was not so easy...hehehe.

We have started going swimming again...this time Nathan's joining us! He loves baths so when he saw the swimming pool for the first time, you could just see the smile on his face :) We are going to try to make this a weekly routine...zech is so happy about this!

My day so far...

Had a good day so far... i made strawberry smoothie and toast for brekkie :) Then we tooks the boys downstairs to play at the small grass area..

So cant wait to move! Mainly so the boys can run around and be BOYS rather than stuck in the house with toys they constantly are bored with.

Anways we then went for a short walk before i had to get home to cook lunch. Cooked chicken mince with potato and some green veg. Then we ALL had a afternoon nap!! Weeeeeee....that doesnt happen that often..haha..

6 months

Nathan has turned 6 months today :)
Can't believe it has been half a year already..wow..
I'm just amazed at how well he is growing..healthy..
with plenty of smiles to share with everyone everyday..
He's such a joy to us and I'm sure to anyone that meets him :)
I thank the Lord everyday for Nathan and that the Lord will give
us wisdom to raise both our boys in the way that God has intended.

At 6 months now..
He smiles so very much..
He will be sitting up soon as he tries to all the time :)..
He roles back to front and the other way to get from A to B..
He has started solids..
Carrots,bananas,apples,rice cereal & avocado..
and many more to come..
He loves bath time..gets all excited when he knows it's coming
ex: when i get his clothes off, he will kick and smile..and
make happy noises..hehe

As months go by so many more things that he will learn
and experience in this growing stage.
We are truly thankful to our family and friends whom
have always given support and love!
We love you! :)

First solids

Last week we started Nathan on solids...
The recommended age to start is 6 months, but we saw signs
that indicated that he was ready :)
He was paying attention to us whenever it was meal time.
Grabbing food whenever he could.
Opening his mouth when presented food to him :)
So i started of with fruits like banana and apples.
He didn't fuss at all...ate all of it right away :) hehehe..
Nathan definitely has a good appetite.

Homemade Pizza

We decided to try and make our own pizza..
Bought the dough and added the ingredients :)
Zech helped put the stuff on...he enjoyed it and was a success!
He ate quite alot too, maybe it's becoz he made em' :)

We went to the beach last Saturday with Uncle David & Aunty Mieke..
Zech was so excited!! He couldn't wait to play with the sand not water! :)
He didn't want to go anywhere near the water at first but then finally did with daddy.

Sunday School Performance

Last Sunday we had our Church 7th Anniversary.
The Sunday school kids did a presentation of a song "You are my all in all'.
Zech sang as well...but had the microphone right up to his mouth!! Haha..aiyah..
Guess i have to teach him some microphone techniques..:)

But he was so brave and sang well...
that's all that matters :)

The incident

Last Sunday, Zech fell in the bathtub hurting his chin...
It was slippery and he slipped and fell hitting the tap.
We came home late after a long Sunday and was getting zech ready for bed.
So was giving him a wash, i put him in the bathtub and just turned around
for a second to get his toothbrush.
Then i heard the fall and a loud cry after that..
At first my reaction was ok he fell i just need to give him a hug.
But boy was i wrong when i saw all the blood...ahhhh.
Never seen so much blood!!
Anyway, the cut was pretty deep so initially i thought he would need
some stitches after my research on the net..
So we went to the chemist just to check the info..
And found out that we just needed to apply antiseptic,
no stitches needed! Praise the Lord!
Right now it's still healing..
Just so grateful that it was nothing serious..
But after this incident i am definitely thinking of child safety more...

Got a good bargain on ebay a few weeks ago...
Wanted to get a baby gym for Nathan for quite a while now,
didnt want to get a new one coz i know that it wont take long till
he will get bored of it.
So was searching on ebay till i found a good bargain one day :)
Paid just $25 when it retails for $120.
Of course it wasn't new and was hoping it to be in good condition
as it said in the add.
So we went to pick it up and opened it when we got home.
I was so happyyyyy!!! hehehe...it was in such a good condition..as new.
No stains...love the colours and the features..
A good bargain indeed :)

Nathan had his dedication at church on Sunday.
Ps. Sam did the whole ceremony...2 other babies join together as well.
We as parents pray that Nathan grows up to fear the Lord and
a blessing to many.
Also that he will fulfill the purposes that God has for his life!

It's Valentine's Day and also Nathan turns 4 months today :)
He loves smiling...can turn himself from tummy to back..
lots more ooo's...soon will have ba ba's ...etc.
God is so good...Nathan has been so well..physically..
and overall a very good baby..sleeps well and drinks well :)

This year Chinese New Year and Australia are in the same day :)
So we kinda celebrated both..hehehe..
We went for a picnic with our church and then dinner at a friend's place.
Btw sorry for the delay on updating the blog, been really busy
with church administration stuff and the boys had fever but
they're healthy and very active now ;)

God answers prayers

When Zech was a baby he slept like a 'baby' during car rides.
Nathan however is totally opposite ;)
He doesn't seem to like the car rides, well i think mostly it's
coz he can't seem to sleep in the car even when he's so tired!
Poor baby :(
He will cry and cry and cry and it gets pretty stressing in the car.
We as a family always pray before we leave our home.
Zech even sometimes reminds me.."mummy pray" :)
So always in our prayers we ask God to give Nathan
the peace and joy and to help him learn to settle himself
to sleep.
So it started around the end of his 2nd month, that he started
to improve in the car..he will cry less but wont fall asleep yet.
Then it will be progressing each time until he will not cry no more,
unless it's a dirty nappy :)
This pass two weeks, it has been a miracle..he has fallen asleep
in the car a couple of times!! Hallelujah!
He cries only sometimes..or even for awhile just to
settle himself off to zzz land ;)
It's so much easier when Nathan can fall asleep.
Everyone is much more calm.
We don't have to rush on the road, Andrew can stop by the petrol station
without worrying that Nathan will cry his lungs out!
God is so good, He truly is..
He listens to our prayers..and He is always there for us!

Nathan at 3 months

Nathan turned 3 months on the 14th Jan..
He sure has grown alot since a tiny little baby :)
He nows smiles alot more, sometimes a little laughter when
being tickled :)
He is very amazed at his hands and feet :)
He has a good appetite which makes him heavier each day..hehe
Also an improvement is when he wakes up from a nap,
he no longer cries but just 'coos'..;)
He lifts his head up pretty high now when on his tummy.

First of all sorry for the really late post....
tend to be overwhelmed when there's so many photos..stories
and when it's delayed in posting...the more overwhelmed i get
and then there goes the blog! Hahaha...but it's a new year
and I'm back..posting stories of our life!
Thanks again faithful readers..:)

Christmas and new years this year was a meaningful one
as all of us tend to think about God's goodness in our lives...
so did we.
2008 was (as most of you will know) a challenging yet
blessed year for us!!
We are so grateful for the Lord's goodness and His faithfulness in our lives.
And of course the biggest thing on 2008 is Nathan Isaiah Rumende!!
What a true joy he has been in our lives...and not mentioning
how many flights he flew when he was in my tummy!!
hahaha..so random :)

So these are the pics and what we did before the year ended...

Andrew worked and joined us later in the night...

Zechariah's 3rd Birthday (Part 2)

The day went on with Zech playing with his new toys...
We were suppose to go out for dinner since it was a special day,
but we end up having dinner at home...
We thought that was the best idea coz if we had dinner out
we would be then busy with Nathan...
and that would not be nice as it was Zechariah's day :)
So we bought all his favourite junk!! Hehehe...
He wanted chips, pizza...mashed potatoes...and ice cream!!
That was our dinner...but he was so happy, that's all that matters!
But the highlight of the day was his cake!!
A friend of ours Mery, made it! Thanks heaps ci!!
Zech requested for a spiderman candle...but we couldn't find one..
It was nice of him to understand when i said
'mummy couldn't find any spiderman candles..sorry ya...' :)

Zechariah's 3rd Birthday (Part 1)

On the 15th December, it was zech's 3rd birthday.
Can't believe he has turn 3 already! Wow...
We didn't have a big party but we did have a family party...
So here's what we did...
The night before i put up some balloons on the wall,
and then arranged all his presents on the couch :)

Morning morning...
He wakes up and i asked him to pose for the camera!
He wasn't that into it coz he was still not fully awake!! Hehe...
The good thing was he still manage to smile :)

Nathan's new bathtub

I like this new bathtub...it's the fisher price rainforest bathtub.
This one lets me just put Nathan on it without holding him
while giving him a bath.
Now bath time is more relaxing coz he can look straight
at mummy...and give her a smile :)

When he gets a bit more heavier then
there will be no more lying in the bath :)

Growing up

Zechariah is definitely growing up sooooo fast!
It's the time now when he wants to do everything by himself.
It's hard sometimes to let him do it coz things get messy when he does it!!
But hey it's part of growing up and i need more patience!! :)
One of the things is brushing his teeth.
Zech is the first to get up in the mornings...so i will know he's up when
there are noises coming from the bathroom :)
For the first few times trying it on his own, it was messy!!
Toothpaste everywhere...
Now it's getting better...however he still loves to put tons and tons
of toothpaste!!

What we've been up to lately...

Time sure flies...Nathan's smiling more often and Zechariah is so
grown up and turning 3 soon!!
I'm settling nicely with having two boys at home.
It gets a bit stressing sometimes when things are a bit hectic
but i go on knowing that the Lord will give me strength!
I want to enjoy my time with my boys as they do tend to
grow very quickly!
I can't wait till Nathan sleeps through the night...i miss my sleep :(
Zechariah started at 3 months so hope that Nathan does that too
or sooner..hehe
In the early mornings, i usually sleep in coz i need it!!
Andrew however has to get up coz zech wakes up at 7..sometimes earlier...
So Andrew normally does the duty of getting the boys their sunlight.

Early Childhood Centre
